The right format for your image.
Read and write support are different. This table describes the current version, including important limitations. Additional codecs load only when needed and run on your device.

Photos, graphics, or icons?
Choose JPG for compatible photo files. Choose PNG for crisp graphics and transparency. WebP can be useful for web images; compare the resulting size. BMP and TIFF outputs are uncompressed and can be much larger. ICO produces a single icon for modern use, not a complete set of legacy icon sizes.
A still image, with fresh metadata
Animated sources become one frame. Original EXIF, GPS, DPI, and color-profile metadata are not copied. Browser decoding may change colors, particularly with HDR or wide-gamut images. This is an everyday image tool, not a print-production or animation-preservation workflow.
Working with SVG
Use a static SVG with an explicit size or viewBox. Scripts, stylesheets, embedded images, filters, external references, and animation are rejected. Converting an SVG to PNG or JPG turns it into pixels. Turning a JPG into editable vector paths requires a separate tracing tool.
Device-friendly limits
Select up to 20 images, each up to 100 MB, with a 250 MB combined input limit. Originals can be up to 120 megapixels and 65,535 pixels per side. Automatic size fits larger images into a 32 megapixel, 8,192 px output limit. Select a smaller longest side for smaller downloads. Keep original size works when the image fits the output limits. Browser support and available device memory also affect large-image conversion. Results are capped at 150 MB per batch. Keep smaller batches on memory-constrained devices.
