How to convert WebP to JPG
- Choose your files. Add WebP images. You can select up to 20 files per batch, within the displayed size limits.
- Set the result. JPG is already selected. Adjust dimensions and, for JPG, WebP or AVIF, quality. Check the transparency background where available.
- Convert and download. Download each result or the batch ZIP. Compare file size and appearance before replacing any original.
JPG output: Compact photos. Transparent areas are filled with the selected background.

Why saved images keep turning into WebP
Many websites deliver images as WebP because it loads faster than JPG at similar quality. When you right-click and save a picture, you get that WebP file, and then an older editor, a document template, a print shop or a messaging tool refuses to open it. Converting to JPG gives you a file that practically every program and upload form accepts.
Transparency, animation and color
WebP can hold transparent pixels, but JPG cannot. Any transparent area is filled with the background color you choose before converting, white by default. Pick a color that matches the page or slide the image will sit on so edges blend in.
An animated WebP becomes a single still frame in the JPG. Embedded metadata and color profiles are not copied into the new file, so colors in an unusual profile may shift slightly.
Getting a reasonable file size
Expect the JPG to be a little larger than the WebP it came from at the same visual quality, because WebP compresses more efficiently. Quality 85 to 90 suits most photos. Since WebP is often already lossy, converting at a very low setting stacks a second round of artifacts on the first, so lower the dimensions before dropping quality. JPG output also supports a maximum size in KB if you need to meet an upload limit.
Built-in options on Windows and Mac
Paint on Windows 11 opens WebP files, and File > Save as > JPEG picture writes a JPG copy. On a Mac, Preview opens WebP on recent macOS versions; use File > Export and choose JPEG, with a quality slider. Both handle one image at a time and the menus can vary by version.
Converting a folder of WebP files with ConvitAll
Drop in up to 20 WebP images, keep JPG selected and convert. Your browser decodes each image itself; if it cannot, a local decoder steps in. When the batch finishes, download the files individually or grab one ZIP. The images stay on your device throughout.
Questions and answers
Why do websites save images as WebP instead of JPG?
Sites choose WebP because it usually makes smaller files than JPG at similar visual quality, which speeds up page loading. Your browser displays it fine, but the file you save keeps that format. Converting a copy to JPG makes it usable in tools that never added WebP support.
What happens to the transparent parts of a WebP?
JPG has no transparency channel, so ConvitAll paints those areas with the background color you select, white unless you change it. If you need to keep the see-through edges, convert the WebP to PNG instead, which preserves transparency.
Can I convert an animated WebP to JPG?
You will get one still frame. JPG cannot hold animation, and this converter does not export each frame as a separate image. If the motion matters, keep the original WebP and share it where WebP animation is supported.
Which quality setting should I use for WebP to JPG?
Start at 85 to 90 for photos. Go lower only when you need a smaller file, and check faces and text in the result. Because the WebP was probably already compressed, reducing the longest side often saves more space with fewer visible artifacts than a very low quality value.
