Editing is limited to 4,096 pixels on the longest side. Larger images are reduced before editing. Animated inputs and multi-page files use one frame or the first page.

Remove source metadata

Creates a fresh image from the decoded pixels without copying the original EXIF, GPS, IPTC or XMP metadata. It is not a lossless metadata-only file edit. PNG avoids additional lossy compression; JPG is re-compressed.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose the image you want to clean. Processing stays in your browser.
  2. Review the working dimensions and choose PNG or JPG. Larger images are reduced to 4,096 pixels on the longest side.
  3. Prepare and download the new copy. Keep your original separately if you need its metadata.

The image is decoded and re-encoded, not edited byte-for-byte. Original EXIF, GPS, IPTC and XMP metadata are not copied, but the encoder may write basic format information. Color profiles, HDR, source DPI and animation are not preserved. Visible names, faces, addresses, QR codes and other identifying details remain in the picture. The filename still includes your original filename; rename it if that is sensitive.
