How to compress an image under a KB limit
- Choose your images. Add up to 20 supported files. Select JPG, WebP or AVIF output.
- Set the maximum file size. Enter a target such as 200 or 500 KB per image. Maximum quality is the starting point, and the tool tries lower settings down to 10%.
- Convert and check. Each result says whether it fits. When a target is missed, choose a smaller Image size, such as 1,280 pixels, and convert again.
Smaller files may lose fine detail. Keep your originals and check each download before using it. The tool tests up to eight quality settings; it does not guarantee the highest possible quality or an exact byte size. AVIF may take longer.

Which image formats can I convert?
Open JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, TIFF, AVIF, GIF, BMP, ICO, and self-contained SVG. Save as JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF, or ICO. HEIC export and vector tracing are not available. See the full format guide.
Will I lose quality or transparency?
PNG keeps pixel detail without lossy compression. JPG, WebP, and AVIF use the quality setting. JPG, GIF, BMP, and TIFF outputs fill transparency with your chosen background. Resizing can lose detail. Existing compression artifacts cannot be undone.
What happens to animation and metadata?
Animated inputs become a single still frame. EXIF, GPS, source DPI, and other original metadata are not copied. This version is designed for everyday screen images, not color-critical printing or animation preservation.
Are there file size limits?
Up to 20 files, 100 MB per file, and 250 MB combined. Originals can be up to 120 megapixels and 65,535 pixels per side. Automatic size reduces large images to an output within 32 megapixels and 8,192 pixels per side. Smaller images keep their dimensions. Very large files may still exceed your device’s available memory. Closing or refreshing the page clears the queue.
