How to convert PNG to WebP
- Choose your files. Add PNG images. You can select up to 20 files per batch, within the displayed size limits.
- Set the result. WebP is already selected. Adjust dimensions and, for JPG, WebP or AVIF, quality. Check the transparency background where available.
- Convert and download. Download each result or the batch ZIP. Compare file size and appearance before replacing any original.

A lighter format for transparent web graphics
Transparent PNGs are popular for product cut-outs, logos, hero illustrations and screenshots, but they can be heavy. WebP supports transparency too and frequently stores the same picture in fewer bytes, which helps pages load faster. If your website or content system accepts WebP, converting large PNGs is one of the easiest ways to trim page weight without changing how the images look.
How transparency and edges are handled
The alpha channel is preserved, including soft anti-aliased edges and shadows. This converter uses lossy WebP compression controlled by the quality slider, so the color pixels are approximated while the transparent shape is kept. For logos and images with small lettering, quality 90 or higher keeps edges crisp; for photo-like cut-outs, 80 to 85 is often fine. Animated PNGs export as a still image, and metadata chunks are not copied.
A smaller file is likely, not guaranteed
Large photographic PNGs usually shrink a lot. Tiny icons, pixel art or PNGs that were already carefully optimized may gain little or even grow slightly. Compare the size reported for each result and keep the PNG when it wins. For a hard budget, enter a maximum KB value and the tool searches for a quality that fits.
No built-in shortcut on most systems
The standard save dialogs in Paint and Preview generally do not offer WebP, so converting PNG to WebP usually means using a dedicated tool or letting your website platform convert uploads for you. Check whether your platform already does this, so you do not compress the same image twice.

Questions and answers
Does PNG to WebP keep the transparent background?
Yes. WebP supports an alpha channel, and ConvitAll keeps fully and partly transparent pixels from the PNG. You can place the WebP over any background on your site just as you would the original PNG.
Is the WebP lossless like my PNG?
No. This converter creates lossy WebP files, which is where most of the size saving comes from. At high quality settings the difference is hard to see, but if you need a pixel-exact copy, keep the PNG.
Why did my WebP come out larger than the PNG?
Small, simple or already optimized PNGs leave little room to save, and a high quality setting adds bytes. Try a lower quality, or simply keep the PNG for that image. The tool never replaces your original, so nothing is lost by testing.
Which quality should I use for logos with text?
Use 90 or higher for logos, icons and anything with small lettering, then zoom in to check the edges. Lower settings can soften thin strokes. Photographic cut-outs tolerate lower values, often around 80.
